About the EZFeeder
What is the EZFeeder?
A motorized, remote-controlled carrier that moves your bird feeder along a backyard cable. Press a button to bring the feeder to your door for refilling, then send it back out.
Does it come with a bird feeder?
No. The EZFeeder is the carrier — hang the feeder you already have from its hook.
What is the weight limit?
The EZFeeder carries up to 10 lbs — enough for most standard feeders, even when full of seed.
How far does the remote work?
Up to 100 yards, and it works through walls and windows.
What colors are available?
Camouflage (dark green) and Green (light green).
Battery & charging
How long does a charge last?
About 3–4 weeks per charge. The LiFePO4 battery is rated for more than 2,000 charge cycles.
When should I charge the battery?
Charge when the display shows two bars. The charging light changes from red to green when the battery is full, which takes about 3.5 to 4 hours.
Installation
Is it OK to place the far end of the cable a few feet higher?
Yes — this is actually preferred. A slightly higher far anchor helps the feeder glide smoothly and prevents sagging over time.
Where should the turnbuckle go?
On the house side. That keeps the adjustment hardware within reach and makes tensioning the cable easy.
The cable has too much slack. Can I use a shorter turnbuckle?
Yes — a shorter turnbuckle is a good fix for excess slack.
Should I tighten the hook that holds the bird feeder?
Don't overtighten the hook. Use the nut to secure it instead — overtightening can damage the hook or the feeder attachment point.
Weather
What should I do if ice forms on the cable?
Wait a day or so for the ice to thaw naturally before using the EZFeeder. Don't force the unit along an iced cable.
Can I bring the EZFeeder in during bad weather?
Yes. Bring it close to the house, or all the way in, during severe weather or when you won't be using it for a while.
